Free Swim

Free Swim is an award winning documentary film about the paradox of coastal people not knowing how to swim. Taking place on the island of Eleuthera in The Bahamas we follow a group of kids as they overcome their fears, gain confidence and reconnect with their environment by learning to swim in open waters. With fresh memories of a friend drowning and the conflicts of growing tourism, for these kids it’s not just about floating, but gaining new skills for their future.

HOST A SCREENING

Host a screening and use Free Swim as a springboard for discussion, inspiration and action.
Our Free Swim Guide for Educators + Changemakers is free for you to use; both low and high resolution versions are available for download below.

Show Free Swim on your campus or in your classroom.  Team up with a local organization. Encourage your library or research institution to purchase a copy for their collection.  You may charge admission and/or use the screening as a fundraiser for your cause of choice. You don’t need a grand theater. Project Free Swim outdoors on a sheet or on a building's wall in your community. Let us know your ideas – big or small. We'd love to help.

Regardless of the size of your screening audience, if you are showing Free Swim anywhere other than in a personal home setting, it is considered a public screening and you must purchase the proper screening rights to avoid copyright infringement. If so, download and complete our screening application and either a one-time-only or a multiple screening contract.
